Val Gardena/Gröden will host the FIS Ski World Cup for the 50th time this December. The anniversary celebrations already started more than three months before. World Cup racers and race organizers of different generations as well as numerous ski fans relieved the memories of the last half century.
Before the traditional FIS spring meetings, Club 5 held its bi-annual workshop gathering its 16 members in Portoroz, with the goal to exchange ideas and discuss important topics related to the organisation of a World Cup event.
Two months after the conclusion of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2017 in St. Moritz (SUI) the Organising Committee presented the outcome of the event at the final debrief in Are (SWE), host of the 2019 World Championships, on 25th April.
Eight years after the St-Moritz World Championships, Switzerland could once again host the FSI Ski World Championships. Crans-Montana/Valais is the Swiss candidate for the 2025 Worlds, with the firm support of Swiss-Ski.
