A conciliatory end after the cancellation of the giant slalom

Despite the bad weather situation on Saturday, 20‘800 ski fans flocked to Adelboden. After the official inspection of the slope, the jury has decided to cancel the giant slalom due to dense fog. Nevertheless, the atmosphere at the World Cup Village was hilarious and cheerful.

Thanks to the numerous volunteers and staff, and their tireless work, the slalom could take place as planned. On Sunday, the weather was cloudy but much better and World Cup Adelboden was happy to welcome 9900 people for the slalom.

After an exciting race at Chuenisbärgli, Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR) won ahead of Marcel Hirscher (AUT), who got his 12th Adelboden-cowbell. The third place went the Russian athlete Alexander Khoroshilov.

OC President Peter Willen was satisfied and stated: „ It was a pleasure to welcome that many ski fans, although the weather was not our best friend this weekend“.
