A successful ski weekend at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Adelboden

Last weekend, Adelboden hosted the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. The OC looks back on a successful ski event with 34.000 visitors. Since winter started in December in Adelboden the preparation on and off course went well.

After a snowy night and a lot of work for the crew on slope, the athletes were welcomed by fair weather conditions and a crowd of 23.000 spectators on Saturday. The races ended with the victory of the Austrian Marcel Hirscher ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR) and Thomas Fanara (FRA).

On Sunday the athletes delivered a thrilling slalom fight from which Marcel Hirscher (AUT) emerged as winner ahead of Noel Clement (AUT). Third place went to the Norwegian athlete Henrik Kristoffersen. The conditions were challenging for the athletes with snow fall throughout the whole race.

President of the Board Peter Willen was very satisfied and stated: „It was a pleasure to welcome numerous ski fans and we can successfully look back to the last weekend. The atmosphere at the World Cup Village was cheerful and the two races make up for the hard work in advance. The crew on the slope did an excellent job during the nights to push out all the fresh snow.”
