Hirscher dominates in Schladming

45,200 fans witnessed another demonstration of Marcel Hirscher's power at the Nightrace in Schladming. The dominant World Cup athlet crossed the finish line with a lead of 1.21 seconds at his 68th World Cup victory.

After finishing third and second (Wengen and Kitzb├╝hel), the 29-year-old from Salzburg returned to the top of the podium in an impressive manner. Hirscher laid the cornerstone for his tenth victory of the season with a Gala performance in the first run, where he left his rivals one second behind. Also in the second run of the floodlight spectacle the ski hero from Annaberg convinced with the best run. The Frenchman Alexis Pinturault finished second (+1.21 sec.), the Swiss Daniel Yule (+1.60) finished third as last year. With Marco Schwarz in fifth place, Marc Digruber in seventh place and Christian Hirschb├╝hl in tenth place, three more Austrians landed in the top ten at the World Championships rehearsal. "It's fun again. Thanks to my team, it wasn't easy. Finally I had a good feeling again, stability, safety and the courage to take risks. I'm glad that I found this one decisive centimetre with my team at the set-up", said the triple Nightrace winner Marcel Hirscher.
