Wonderful victories, music and fun
The Gran Risa - one of the most challenging slopes of the whole circuit, two wonderful competitions, lots of music and 31 years of history. The Ski World Cup Alta Badia 2016 was a celebration of sports and a great occasion of fun and enjoyment for everyone.
The Men’s Giant Slalom, run under a shining sun and perfect weather conditions on Sunday December 18th, was won by an unstoppable Marcel Hirscher, on this fourth consecutive victory on the Gran Risa. Fans and all the spectators cheered with rejoicing the third place of South-Tyrolean Florian Eisath, at his first podium on his 100th participation to the Ski World Cup. The day after, on Monday December 19th, the exultation was all for the winner of the Men’s Parallel Giant Salom – Cyprien Sarrazin, who accomplished his first victory on a Ski World Cup race.
Novelty of this year was, moreover, was the 1st Südtrol Ski Trophy – awarded to the competitor with the most World Cup points from the four competitions in South Tyrol, the Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud.
To celebrate these amazing victories, the beautiful performance of Olympic skier Tina Maze, special testimonial of the Ski World Cup Alta Badia 2016. Tina awarded the Men’s Giant Slalom winners and enchanted everyone with her rock performance, her energy and smiles. This set the tone for the whole Ski World Cup’s week end, filled with enthusiasm, parties, concerts and slope-fun.
