Shiffrin’s 100th Victory Lives On in Sestriere

One year after the historic achievement on the Kandahar G.A. Agnelli slope, the Sestriere Ski World Cup Organizing Committee and the Municipality of Sestriere have unveiled a sculpture dedicated to the extraordinary milestone reached by the American champion who, at the Colle in the Vialattea ski area, broke the barrier of 100 Alpine Ski World Cup victories.

A crystal globe secured and strong Swedish performances during World Cup races 113 and 114 in Åre

Sunshine and calm winds, a great atmosphere and fantastic performances from both athletes and those working behind the scenes summed up the World Cup weekend in Åre. “We can proudly look back on a very successful competition weekend,” says Olle Danielsson Klippinge.Despite warm temperatures and a minor storm in the days leading up to the event, fantastic work from volunteers and race organisers ensured that both the arena and the slope were in top condition ahead of the first start on Saturday.

Alta Badia – The 40th anniversary of the World Cup races on the Gran Risa

It was quite an emotional 40th anniversary that the popular Alta Badia Ski World Cup event celebrated this season by excellent weather conditions a few days prior the Christmas break. Austria’s Marco Schwarz enjoyed a fabulous comeback in front of the usual large crowd winning the giant slalom, two years after suffering a horrendous crash on Bormio’s treacherous “Stelvio” course while Norway’s Atle Lie McGrath was out of reach for his rivals the next day in the thrilling slalom race.

Club5 welcomes five new members

Zurich, September 26, 2025 – Club5, the association of the classic World Cup alpine skiing venues, grew to 26 members on Thursday evening. Val di Fassa (ITA), Levi (FIN), Kronplatz (ITA), Bormio (ITA), and Courchevel (FRA) were admitted as new organizers during the Club5 General Assembly, held as part of the traditional FIS autumn meetings in Zurich.
