Club5 welcomes five new members

Zurich, September 26, 2025 – Club5, the association of the classic World Cup alpine skiing venues, grew to 26 members on Thursday evening. Val di Fassa (ITA), Levi (FIN), Kronplatz (ITA), Bormio (ITA), and Courchevel (FRA) were admitted as new organizers during the Club5 General Assembly, held as part of the traditional FIS autumn meetings in Zurich.

Honour for the champion: Marco Odermatt’s very own gondola

For the first time in some 20 years, Marco Odermatt returned to Kitzbühel for a summer visit. Why, might you ask? The inauguration ceremony of his very own gondola on the Hahnenkamm cable car – in honour of his Super-G triumph back in January. The Swiss ski sensation was both grateful and touched by the occasion.

The last technical men’s World Cup races held at Hafjell, in Norway, before the upcoming Finals in Sun Valley, USA, were once again very successful for the Swiss team as Loic Meillard celebrated his first season wins on the tour a month after clinching FIS Gold in slalom at Saalbach 2025.

The first World Cup speed event organized after Saalbach 2025 took place by fair weather conditions allowing the best specialists on the tour to enjoy a good time cruising down the “Olimpiabakke” course which returned only three years ago on the women’s circuit.

The last speed races on the men’s World Cup tour prior to the Finals at Sun Valley were once more exciting for the athletes fighting for glory or points and also for the viewers around the globe. They had once more the chance to watch some spectacular runs down Kvitfjell’s well-known “Olimpiabakke” course.
