A grand total of 42,000 spectators attended the event over the two race days on the legendary Chuenisbärgli. The atmosphere at the finish, in the World Cup Village and in the village of Adelboden itself fully lived up to the advertised ski party. A big thank you to all partners, sponsors and helpers! Farewell was said to FIS Chief Race Director Günter Hujara – from the Adelboden organisers he received an original winner’s bell like those presented to the winners on the Chuenisbärgli. Hans Pieren has also accompanied his last Adelboden race as FIS Race Director. The FIS decision not to extend his contract was described as “incomprehensible” by Peter Willen the Chairman of the Organising Committee. Pieren will of course remain Race Director for the Chuenisbärgli.
