An exceptional weekend on the legendary Face de Bellevarde in Val d’Isère
The world’s top giant and slalom athletes took to the challenging Face: Swiss skier Marco Odermatt won his fourth consecutive giant slalom on Saturday, December 14, and French skier Steven Amiez thrilled the crowd by dominating the first run of the Slalom on Sunday, December 15, which was ultimately won by Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen.
This edition also marked the launch of a new graphic identity, in line with the international ambitions of the Critérium. The event embodies commitment, sharing, and excellence, offering an unforgettable experience while respecting its environment. Digital tools have become a strategic lever to reach new audiences and ensure lasting visibility.
“We had a magnificent weekend, truly successful. It was such a pleasure to see so many people come out to support the athletes, especially the French ones. Steven Amiez really got the crowd going; what happened in the Slalom (a fall in the second run after winning the first) will be a valuable lesson for him. I also want to think of Clément Noël, the skier from the Val d'Isère Sports Club, who was injured in the Giant Slalom but whose achievements this season have brought so many people here. French events need their athletes, and this weekend, the French team set the place on fire.
Delivering these two days of racing is built on our expertise. On the Face de Bellevarde, demanding work was once again carried out this year, especially since the snowfall was heavier than expected over the weekend. Behind the scenes, all the stakeholders have been working for months, from the organizing committee to the many teams in Val d’Isère, not to mention our partners. A big congratulations and especially a big thank you to everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of the event. Every link in the chain is essential for an event to run smoothly.” — INGRID JACQUEMOD, Director of the Val d’Isère Sports Club.
