It only took a few years for the youngest Club 5-Ski Classics member to establish itself as one of the most spectacular and demanding giant slalom competitions on the women’s tour! 

It was quite an emotional 40th anniversary that the popular Alta Badia Ski World Cup event celebrated this season by excellent weather conditions a few days prior the Christmas break. Austria’s Marco Schwarz enjoyed a fabulous comeback in front of the usual large crowd winning the giant slalom, two years after suffering a horrendous crash on Bormio’s treacherous “Stelvio” course while Norway’s Atle Lie McGrath was out of reach for his rivals the next day in the thrilling slalom race.

The 86th Hahnenkamm Races could hardly have gone better and brought more tears than ever before—among the successful racers in front of 87,000 fans on site and millions watching on screens around the world. And not all of them were tears of joy.

As part of the 58th edition of the Saslong Classic, Val Gardena once again became the venue for a high-class World Cup spectacle. With a sprint downhill, a super-G, and a classic downhill, there was one more race than usual on the program at the foot of the Sassolungo – a challenge that was expectedly managed by the organizers.

A spectacular double race weekend wrapped up in Levi, where Mikaela Shiffrin claimed an impressive back-to-back victory and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen delivered a historic first win for Brazil.

Zurich, September 26, 2025 – Club5, the association of the classic World Cup alpine skiing venues, grew to 26 members on Thursday evening. Val di Fassa (ITA), Levi (FIN), Kronplatz (ITA), Bormio (ITA), and Courchevel (FRA) were admitted as new organizers during the Club5 General Assembly, held as part of the traditional FIS autumn meetings in Zurich.

What a celebration on the Hahnenkamm: almost 200 guests attended the gondola presentation ceremony to Downhill champion, James Crawford, including a whole host of Canadian ski heroes, both seasoned legends and fresh-faced talents

For the first time in some 20 years, Marco Odermatt returned to Kitzbühel for a summer visit. Why, might you ask? The inauguration ceremony of his very own gondola on the Hahnenkamm cable car – in honour of his Super-G triumph back in January. The Swiss ski sensation was both grateful and touched by the occasion.

Vilamoura, May 7th 2025 - During the FIS spring meetings in Vilamoura (Portugal), Club5 – the association of the classic Alpine Ski World Cup venues – held its annual plenary session. The attending organizers unanimously accepted the organizing committees of St. Anton am Arlberg (Austria) and Sestrière (Italy) as members number 20 and 21.

The last technical men’s World Cup races held at Hafjell, in Norway, before the upcoming Finals in Sun Valley, USA, were once again very successful for the Swiss team as Loic Meillard celebrated his first season wins on the tour a month after clinching FIS Gold in slalom at Saalbach 2025.
